Well, lets talk about scrapbook organization. I did some research, remember science is my background, and I have found some great ideas to get people started with getting back to scrapbooking. Here are a few:
From theoriginalscrapbox.com I really love the EZ view. This is a desk that you can see what is inside drawers through the top. Sounds kind of weird but I thought it was a good deal, $495. Not bad to have. I also like the Workbox. This is a little bit more money but this is a nice piece that would look good anywhere, especially in small spaces (Karen this would be great for you).
In terms of supply organization the Cropper Hopper has some great ideas. I use the Cropper Hopper Vertical paper storage and this works nice, although it is hard to see all of my patterned paper at times. To store stamps, I use old wet swiffer boxes. It is great because they have a lid and they can be stacked. I use baskets to store my ribbons and small supplies.
Because of my scrapbooking closet, I have a lot of cabinet storage. My husband used our old kitchen cabinets, painted them, and bought a scrap of counter top, and the is my scrapping place. Today I plan to get a page finished that I started yesterday and two other pages journaled . I have a poll on my site, on the left side, about journaling. If you have a moment check it out.
Have you set a side a place to call your own yet? If you have then start some organizing today.
Tomorrow I'll give some insight to getting your pictures organized. I'll let you know what I do and where might be a good place to start. If you have a minute leave a comment and let me know your thoughts or talk about your space.
Right now, I do not have anyplace that I can call my own to scrap at. I have to bring it all down to my dining room table, play then pickup. Needless to say, I don't get to do much as it's such a hassel. One day....... :) I look forward to your organizing info just the same!

Do you have a small space that you could at least keep a cart table set up? I used to have to do the same thing and I had it all stored in bags. Good luck trying to find the space. Get creative and keep thinking.
ReplyDeleteCheryl. Thanks for doing this. So fun! You have motivated me! I finished 2008 today! Well, not the journaling. I've started doing my journaling on the computer ever since seeing your album with the typed journaling. I love the way it looks. I'm a huge fan of Creative Memories. I love all their organizing products. My favorite is the file mate. I have a set of file mate folders in each section of the file mate. I labeled each section...reds, pinks, yellows, oranges, greens, blues, purples, browns, blacks, and whites. Then in front of each folder I have letter stickers in that color. Each folder has scraps of that color and behind the folder is full size sheets of that color. I'm pretty sure Cropper Hopper makes a product similar to the Creative Memories one. I love the way all the colored paper looks! I don't have anywhere fancy that I scrapbook. I'm in the basement...unfinished basement that is. It is so nice not having to clean everything up all the time.
